SNS College of Technology was established in 2007 by the SNS Charitable Trust. The college is affiliated to Anna University. Dr. S N Subramanian is the Chairman of SNS Group of Institutions. Dr. S Rajalakshmi is the Managing trustee and correspondent and SNS College MD, Dr. S Nalin Vimal Kumar, is highly qualified with degrees in B.E, M.S, and Ph.D. SNS College of Technology and SNS College of Engineering share a twin campus which is built on 23 acres of land. More than 20 companies visited SNS College of Technology campus for placement in the last academic year. Over 60 recruiters have hired students from both SNS College of Technology and SNS College of Engineering. The companies that visited the campus for placement are TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, L&T Infotech, IBM, HP, Infosys, HCL, Essel Lumax, Stark Technosis, Spin draft group of companies, Wire Delta and V Technologies. Average salary package offered for the students were 2.3 lakhs, and the highest package was 4.8 lakhs and beyond.

While ensuring to bring out the best quality of engineers, the SNS College of Technology and SNS College of Engineering also make certain that the students receive a holistic development. As the management understands that students have a variety of talents such as sports, arts, music, dance and others, they have built various facilities such as a dance studio, music studio and gym facilities. All these facilities are provided to the students by the management through a student run club called ACT ON DREAM club.

The club is run by students and is divided into five groups for various purposes such as Academics, Placements, Extra Curricular and Co-curricular and youth empowerment based on youth parliament concepts. The youth parliament consists of elected members who bridge the gap between the students, the management and staff. For this very purpose, the management has kept all Saturdays as open Saturdays. There are about 40 clubs which are part of the ACT ON DREAM club and they help the students of SNS College of Technology in their holistic development.
